Quora co-founder Adam D'Angelo said on Wednesday that the company is moving to Mountain View from Palo Alto.

Online information system startup Quora Inc. is moving its headquarters from Palo Alto to Mountain View.

Co-founder Adam D’Angelo announced on the Quora site Wednesday that the company is making the move because it needs room to grow and there was no suitable space available in Palo Alto.

"We were lucky to find a space that meets our needs on Castro Street in downtown Mountain View," he wrote. "It's not too far from our current location and it will give us space to grow to four times our current size of 40 employees."

TechCrunch identified the new headquarters building as 650 Castro Street, saying that Quora is taking two floors in a building formerly occupied by Mozilla.

Bloomberg reported that the new offices are eight miles south of Quora's current home and gives it room to grow to about 150 people from the 40 it now has.

Quora raised about $50 million in a funding round several months ago led by early Facebook investor Peter Thiel.

D'Angelo, an early Facebook employee, said the new funds are helping Quora make the new move and grow.
